An intravenous indwelling needle tube is an important component of an intravenous (IV) catheter assembly. It is a precision-manufactured, disposable stainless steel needle tube which is mainly designed to pierce the skin and blood vessel to facilitate the placement of a flexible plastic cannula. Once the IV cannula is in place, this IV indwelling needle tube is withdrawn and discarded, leaving the IV cannula for intravenous therapy.
